I’m not sure if there is a Mac equivalent. In some cases (particularly 32-bit Windows), FireAlpaca does not have full permissions to write the configuration files - in Windows, you can fix this by starting FireAlpaca by right-clicking on the FireAlpaca desktop icon and Run As Administrator, change your settings, and exit the program. Likewise, the configuration files may not be created if the program was shut down incorrectly - I once saw a person using Force Quit as their standard way to close Mac programs (yikes!), and I don’t know if the Windows 10 taskbar Close Window does something similar, I always use the X in the top right corner to close FireAlpaca on Windows, which saves.
